Celebrating over a century of craftsmanship, Hanna Hats are a third-generation family business, world renowned for luxury handcrafted headwear and accessories made from the finest tweed, linen, and cotton from Ireland and throughout Europe. Their fabric selections are inspired by the rugged and wild landscape that surrounds them in Donegal.

Hanna Hats was founded by David Hanna in Donegal Town in 1924. David initially focused on tailoring suits, and then by chance he discovered a particular interest and flair for headwear. The company evolved to specialise in designing and creating handcrafted hats and caps. David’s son John Joseph Hanna joined the business with his three brothers in 1964. Today you will find John’s children, Eleanor and John Patrick, fulfilling this legacy as they continue to create timeless headwear pieces and accessories in their Donegal Town workshop.

They offer a selection of timeless styles including flat caps, newsboy caps, walking hats, accessories and more. Proud to be one of the last headwear manufacturers left in Ireland, each piece is handcrafted by their team of highly skilled craftspeople in their Donegal Town workshop on the northwest coast of Ireland.

They offer behind-the-scenes tours of their workshop, tours are available Tuesdays at 10:30am and Thursdays at 1:30pm (March-October 2026). On their 20–30-minute tour you will learn about the history and heritage of Hanna Hats, see their skilled team handcrafting their caps & hats and hear about some familiar faces who have been spotted wearing Hanna Hats on our wall of fame, for more information and to book, please visit hannahats.com.
